James Date Week
This is my date week with my littlest love. His brother is done with school, and he still has daycare, so Joel is off in Maine having some valuable Nana and Pa time, Joel Husband is off in Canada doing his work thing, and Angus and I are enjoying every moment of James.
Something about him, on his own, makes him a supreme amazing kiddo. School has told me he has been so awesome this week, and super helpful. He has been super helpful at home too. Not like he isn't always an awesome guy - but sometimes he can just require a little extra attention to ensure he is on the right path, let's say. But once he is on that right path, he always rocks it all the way. This week, he is on the right path, and is having a great time.
Last night we watched Robin Hood and ate Thai food before going to bed. Earlier than that we went to a Library gathering where he hung out with an adult named James and totally impressed him. Tonight we picked strawberries, got some ice cream, and then he rode his horse for a little bit. Before we came home and I made fried green tomatoes, which he tried and didn't love, and then he had mac and cheese. Which he loved, no surprise there.
He got loopy tired, second night in a row up past 8 (it is summer, right?) and started his babble - off-loading so it was time for bed. This little guy loves the attention and is a sweet delight. At bedtime he said he was glad that he is spending the week with me, which melts my heart. Earlier this week I showed him a picture of his brother who was fishing with Pa, and who caught a large fish. He was immediately jealous and sad. Tonight after showing him our strawberry picking pictures his first response was: "you should send those to Joelly." Too smart for his own good this guy. Gotta keep him on the right path. Good thing he is super adorable.
