Museum of Science

Today we were to meet a bunch of fun girls at the Boston Public Garden for a Swan Boat ride and picnic, but that did not occur due to inclement weather. So, we changed our plans at the last minute and went to the Museum of Science instead. We heard the Children's Museum was having a free day, so we thought we would luck out with the crowds at the MoS. We were wrong, but we still had fun.
The parking there is quite convenient, though crowded. I guess you do not necessarily have to go to the Museum to park there, and members of a certain level park at deep discount or free maybe. So, I wonder how many people who work in the area are MoS members so they can park there. Shame on them! Mommies need parking!
Once we were all assembled and in, lots of ladies, followed by 4 little boys, enjoyed the Discovery Center. Amy (Milly's Mom), Kate (Maddy's Mom), Kathleen (Alessia's Mom) and I all worked together at Historic New England years ago, so it was a nice mini-reunion. Of course, the King boys and Lauren also had a fantastic time, Declan and Joel good buddies hanging out a fair share of the morning, and giving each other hugs at the end of the day.
The lines there were crazy, but we found a nice corner of the Discovery Center and hunkered down. Lauren got yelled at! Ha! Nolan had a blowout, one for the record books, all over Lauren and himself. But it is a good thing that Mom's travelled in packs because we watched Declan, someone had an extra outfit, and someone else had stain wipes that worked miracles. All was fine 5 minutes later. But someone should tell the guard, if you are going to yell at someone for doing something and then say: "But this time it is ok." - Can you please wait to do so then until stressful moment has passed?
After the Discovery Center Lauren and I took the boys to see the dinosaurs. Cause they are boys. The ladies all went to the cafe. All in all, a good trip, especially for the last minute change. But I wish the Museum was not as crowded. Why can't they have separate school/camp group days at these places? The place must make a boatload, because at $22 a head, and many thousands of heads, how could they not?
