Broken Collarbone

We had our first big broken bone injury over the weekend.  It happened while he was playing at a friend's house.  Joel Andrew broke his collarbone.  At first Daddy did not believe him. We should have went to Sunday River that night, but luckily in the end did not.  Mommy took Joel to the Dr. first thing Saturday morning and soon we all realized that life will be slightly different than was expected for the next 4-6 weeks.

Joel is doing well, and taking it all in stride.  But, I think he hasn't fully realized the magnitude of it yet. We just went to the town farm, to burn our christmas trees (plural as we finally burnt 2013's tree too) - and Joel was very sad to watch his classmates sled down the mountain and know he could not as well.

And of course, now there is an epic snow storm planned - there was quite a bit of snow this weekend already.  A winter with no snow - and now the skiing man gets a broken bone and all the snow arrives. We are sad, but hoping it will go fast, we have to see an orthopedic doctor this week who will give us more news on the healing process, and how soon we can expect to be back in action.  February break looks like it will not be so fun now, so Mommy is trying to come up with other things to do instead.  I hope to get the kids passports tomorrow…  more soon.

So, everyone is a little sad and depressed here and we feel like we are all just waiting now.  Let's hope this passes soon and we just have to be thankful that it is just a broken bone!
