Joel Andrew, Karate King

Joel Andrew received his next belt in Karate last night.  Everyone was very proud, including the man himself.  This belt goes to Daddy, for practicing with him and inspiring an interest in hard work and patience.  All's patience was tested on Tuesday, when Daddy thought they were going in for a belt test but it turn out that "crazy boy" made an appearance and Joel got into so much trouble that the Sensei told him no belt test allowed.  Daddy was adamant in punishment for "crazy boy's" appearance and Mommy played Good Cop trying to give Joelly some pointers on how to fend "crazy boy" off at Karate.  He had this a few months ago in Kindergarten and has since learned to manage, I knew he could do it here too.

Like every epic story, and tearful tale of triumph over adversity, Joel Andrew returned to the Dojo last night to be victorious.  He took deep breaths and did a great job and was awarded with a new belt.  When asked what help him tame the "crazy boy" - Joel's response: "I just looked at Daddy and it helped."

Good job, Joels.

Upon seeing the new belt, James declared he wanted to go back to karate.  (we took him out, he is just too young).  I told him he needs to learn all of the first six moves before he can go back.  Let's see if he remains interested!
