(and a few days). We have been a little preoccupied with somebody's wedding... So it has been tough to recognize that Baby James is 4 months old! He weighed in at a heft 17 pounds, 8 ounces at his Dr's appointment (all of us were disappointed and thought he would be more like 20 pounds). He is doing well all around. Except for driving his Mom crazy with his constant noise, and his continued early wake-ups.

The Dr gave us some advice on the wake-ups. He thinks that in a few weeks it will all settle itself out. That as he gets a bit older his mind will settle and during the light sleep periods he should be able to wake, and go back to sleep quickly without help. Sounds logical, I believe it, lets hope it is true. He has been somewhat good the past few nights. Right now he is chomping on my arm though. I am a little worried that he might be an early teether.

He is a splasher. I cannot give him a bath without being entirely soaked. He has tons of fun which is pretty funny. He also is trying to figure out the eating thing, not too successful at it yet. He cries - in what I can't tell is either frustration that he can't get more down, or sadness that he doesn't like the food. The way he looks at my food, and his brother's plate however though would lead me to believe it is the first. He is always looking at us while we are eating like: "You gonna eat that?"

He is into 9 month clothes, which does not bode well for the clothes leftover from Joel Andrew. It is a little too early for skiing moose and santa claus. But that means more shopping for Mom! Not bad.
All in all he is a great baby, it just continues to be really difficult to have the two of them together. I wish we waited another year but then again, we wouldn't have Baby James, right?
