Here is an episode that has played out a ton in this household:
Child gets sick.
Parents give over the counter medication, most of the bad symptoms (fever) subside within a few days.
Parents are busy with work and travel and camp and things.
Child continues to cough.
Parents are still busy with work and travel and camp and things.
Child coughs more. Phlegmy.
Parent thinks, hey. Maybe we should get that looked at.
Parents are still busy with work and travel and camp and things.
One day. Child coughs too much. Complains of earache. Says he doesn't feel well.
Next day parent panics. Their busy nature has clearly made their child have this deadly disease. Why did we not pay attention to this? Why is the Dr not calling me back immediately? When do we get to see them? Cancel all work appointments and I will go.
Parent brings child to Dr.
Child cannot replicate cough at Drs office. Appears totally fine. Nothing wrong.
As we pull away from Drs office, Child coughs.
Thanks Joel Andrew.
