The little man is not feeling his best lately. The big guy thinks the little guy is getting in some of his back teeth, and this is what is causing the irritability, fever, and lack of sleep at night and lots of sleep during the day. I hope it is just teeth!

We managed to have a fun time at the lake regardless. Though, I feel bad for Mike and Martha, because our cabin has thin walls and the kiddos sleeping troubles certainly echoed. Hopefully the Sweet Tea Vodka drinks helped them sleep through it all!

Otherwise, I think he likes the lake. We get him in the boat and he is right passed out. It does not matter if he had just napped, he will fall right back asleep. It is really cute, check out some shots.

Looking forward to more time at the lake!
Uh, oh, I hope Joel doesn't have the bug that Milly's had all weekend. This sounds very similar to the unexplained grumpiness she had for a few days last week that we also assumed was teething, but then she woke up with a slight fever and was very lethargic and fussy on Saturday morning. We took her to the doctor because it seemed like she had an ear infection, but he actually thought she had a virus called Roseola, which is not serious but causes a rash and is common around 12 months. It's also super-contagious *before* any of the major symptoms appear. Awesome. My daughter is Typhoid Mary. (One of the other babies in our Thursday playgroup also seemed to be coming down with something yesterday.) So keep an eye out for a slight rash, although we're not totally convinced she has/had Roseola because she gets splotchy and speckly a lot from the heat anyway, and both a pediatrician in Andy's family and our American Pediatrics book both say that the order of symptoms was wrong. (Supposed to be at least three days of high fever and then the rash. She only got up to 101.5 and the rash was simultaneous.) Whatever it is, the good news is that she was only really miserable for about 12 hours, and after sleeping a lot on Saturday, she cooled off and began acting much more like herself. Hope Joel is feeling better!
ReplyDeleteOh, and also, the boat pictures are awesome!
Thanks, Amy! He did have a little bit of a rash around his tummy yesterday, but we too thought it was the heat! He is doing much better today, though not napping well and not eating a ton which is a bummer. I bet you by tomorrow he will be back in action! No worries, I doubt Milly gave him anything, but if she did, no biggie... I am sure my son will repay the favor someday!
