Weir River Farm

Today we ventured down to the South Shore for the Spring opening day at Weir River Farm, in Hingham, Mass.  This is quite a ride, but there were a few things pulling us there.  First off, Auntie Bobo lives there!  So, we got to visit Auntie Bobo, Nick and Langdon!  Good times.  Secondly, in Hingham Mommy's work has multiple awesome properties.  We made our way to one of them, Weir River Farm.  They had an open barnyard of sorts and we got to see sheep, cows, chickens, horses (though they were really called ponies).  All the usual suspects.

We started off by having brunch at Stars, right near the water in Hingham.  Great place to bring kids and my boys are getting quite accustomed to their eggy-woo/pancake brunch each weekend.  Baby James did great with the Pratt family as Joely and I made multiple pee-pee on the potty trips.  Boy am I glad I have boys and he can just stand and go.  Ick thinking about touching public potties.

Afterwards we took a nice rambling drive through Hingham to get to Weir River Farm, who knew how big Hingham was?  Also, all the nice houses there!  Note to self, pay attention to this area for work!

It was your typical open barnyard day but I got to see some of my colleagues which was very nice.  We missed the sheep shearing, but Joely got a cupcake that was good for the first few bites.  We pet the bunnies, and said hello to the cows.  I was pretty sure they were calling Joel over.  Uncle Nick had to majorly help Mommy get the stroller back up the hill at the end of the day to the parking lot!

We then drove around some more and went to Pinkberry - my first experience ever - for a delicious treat.  Joel Andrew pretty much ate the whole day.  But by this time they had both had it, James was getting to be a squirmy wormer, so we packed it up for the car ride home.

It was perfect, the two boys snored the whole way back while Mommy had some chill time.  I am telling you, country music on, heat up, highway cruising and kids will pass out.  Mommies will want to pass out too...  But it was a nice excursion day for us since now that I am back to work we do not get as many as we used to.

When we make it back there again we are going to have to visit World's End with a picnic.  When the boys are old enough to all run around and kick a ball, and the adults can sit and relax and chat for hours.  We might smuggle in some booze too...

Now off to dinner tonight with the Kings and Tim and Mara, and then tomorrow another adventure at Castle Hill!  Busy weekend for our clan!
