Deuce's Room

What's the only bad part about your first son being born two weeks early? You then expect the same, or earlier from your second son. Deuce, are you coming soon? I am about to hit the 200 pound mark, which is not a comforting thing for me. I am going to need some serious rapid weight loss for my sister-in-laws wedding this September. Good thing summer, and fruits and vegetables are coming... oh wait, that also means burgers and ice cream and BEER! Ah, I can't wait.
So, we are fretting slightly because if Deuce does follow suit with his brother, or come even earlier than that, he might be here as soon as this weekend. And, this weekend we have absolutely NO family around. Which seemed like no problem, until now. Who will watch Joel Andrew? Even our good friends are tied up with their own pregger situations and who can really ask a neighbor to watch your kiddo? Maybe we should have the babysitter on call? Eh, this is all probably for nothing. This kid will probably come two weeks late which is over a month away. ARGH!
Speaking of ARGH, you can see from these photos that whether he comes soon or not, his room is ready! We moved him into the "pink" room. Which was our last hold-out guest room. Walls were painted blue, new blinds were purchased and a boy's room was born. Now imagine how funny it would be if the ultra-sound lady got it wrong. Ha. Ha. Not.

Since this was our last guest room, our parents who visit from out of town for long stretches of time are relegated to the "1st floor master" - which is not really as suite as it sounds... This room basically has a trundle bed in it and a bunch of large Joel Andrew toys, as well as Deuce's swing. It is the crap room/toy room/guest room. No place to hang your stuff, no drawers to put things away, but hey - husband did buy a luggage rack. Our parents used to have 5 star accommodations with their own bathrooms, now it is this room, and they use the downstairs bath that everyone else in the house also uses. Not to mention there is a window in the shower that is at lady-parts height that gives our neighbors a nice view. Hey, looked pretty when we bought the house... Oops. I think parents might start hinting to us soon that we should put something in the attic, or perhaps move the boys into one room.
Anyway, at least Deuce gets a great space. I hope our two boys do not compare and realize this anytime soon, but Deuce's room comes with a huge walking closet (though not custom Dad closets this time, instead purchased and installed by Dad), and a nice big bathroom. Not to mention the gorgeous windows. Hmm. Maybe in a few years we can move them both into the Man Room and I can have my guest rooms back? Who stresses this much about these things, really?

Ok Deuce, we are ready for you.

(might want to keep reading, it was a three post day for me!).
